A perfect, romantic evening

The girls are at camp this week, so Rob and I decided to find something special to do to belatedly celebrate our anniversary. Only what?

I ran across the perfect idea, and it was splendid! I ran across this, a company called "Gondola Romantica" on the internet. Apparently, an enterprising gentlemen about ten years ago bought and shipped a ( Read more... )

for my birthday one year, my ex took me on a horse and carriage ride through chicago, which isn't so unusual. what made it special was that that was the year that chicago had the "cows on parade" art exhibit (http://www.chicagotraveler.com/cows_on_parade.htm) and we asked our coachperson or whatever you would call them to take us to see as many of the different cows as we could fit in in the allotted time. so there was romance and whimsy all rolled up into one evening--it was lovely.

What a wonderful day!

We have gondolas here in Boston, and they have them in nearby Providence Rhode Island, especially beautiful during Waterfire

I want to try it even more now...

Off we went to the Nat'l park. Then I had to find Jesse James' famous foot bridge. From there, I had to find a luxurious hotel in Sioux Falls. This was a favorite part of mine because it led me into SD, my 49th state to visit! We had a romantic dinner and the next day brought a clue of finding a campsite about 40 miles away ( ... )

How lovely! I'm so glad you had this evening. And what a task! I mean, how on earth WOULD you get a 300-year-old gondola to Minnesota?
