As a Jew, it really meant a lot to me when a German friend apologized on the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. I wasn't born then, my family was in the US decades before Kristallnacht, I have no idea what her parents or grandparents did during the war - but that was a powerful moment for me. I'd bet that no one in the 'I'm Sorry' t-shirts has intentionally mistreated or marginalized gays themselves, but that rift is so much closer in time and experience that I can only imagine how much that meant to all involved. Also, the hater-Christians may be a minority but they're generally so much louder than the ones who try to follow Jesus' example of lovingkindness that it's really good to see this get widely covered.
