Computer rambles

We heard from the folks at Best Buy yesterday about both the computers we dropped off for service. The In-Laws computer was indeed infected like we suspected. They reported 15 trojans on the first scan. When they get the computer back it will be in much better shape. For whatever reason there was no anti-virus program (except the free stuff like Spybot Search & Destroy, AVG and Ad-Aware). It will have something on it this time with a note to please not use Limewire on it again as that's most likely the culprit. Needless to say Limewire has been un-installed from our computer (not that I've used it in months and I always ran an anti-virus scan as soon as I downloaded a file).

The Geek Squad was having problems installing Vista Service Pack 1 (like I had been having problems) on hubby's laptop so they will be restoring the computer in an attempt to get it to install finally. it will also have up-to-date anti-virus protection as well. We're putting Kaspersky Antivirus on both computers (and will likely put it on the home compter as well) since you can use the same license on up to three computers.

I know we need to take our home computer in for a tweak sometime soon, but I dread being without the computer for as long as it will take. We dropped the computers off last Thursday and they still aren't done yet. Makes me wonder how I got so lucky when I bought hubby's laptop that the Geek Squad set it up overnight (of course that was at the Opelika Best Buy vs. the Pensacola Best Buy).

Not much else going on. I think my grumpiness from earlier is starting to fade as I finally get tired.

Random note: I just noticed in my user info that I have posted 1002 journal entries since I created my journal. O_o
