I knew your mother had died around this time, but I thought it was later than this. I'm sorry that I didn't know it was the anniversary -- I'd have called you.
RE: GMing -- it's scary but you can do it. I've even done it without ANY pre-planning at all -- winging it, and it went really well, and I'm not as good at thinking up characters and stuff as you are, so think how good you'll be!
