So that's why there's been all these references to St Patrick's day. Didn't realize it was coming up. Black pudding apparently is one of many similar widespread culinary gestures in honor of that thrift which wastes no part of animal sacrifice, n'even th' squeal. Anna's mom makes a pig blood soup as part of her Chinese cultural repertoire, but there's not that many eager eaters, including me, because the rest of us haven't been around long enough, and been hungry enough, to acquire the taste. And it's black, like Guiness. A corned beef, cabbage & potato feast looks good now. Black pudding will look better when the famine comes

Kaitlin bought Toby a present at the pet store yesterday while we were out doing laundry so we'll be bringing that too.
