Today I did a practice run for Josh's birthday cake. This turned out to be a Very Good Idea.

I'm used to making 9" round cakes, not 14" round cakes, so I wasn't ready for taking it out of the pan. Which meant it broke. A lot. There were three big pieces and several smaller ones, plus a bunch of crumbs covering the counter.
