"Hahaha~ You're probably right." Oh Falcon was very right about that. Samus would sooner die than risk any of what happened at BSL again, especially if she happened to be the subject of the Federation's interests.

Well. She was sure she always was in their interest. For better or worse.

"I was just about to ask about that!" Setting himself on fire and punching through cars and concrete walls? And where did all that amazing flexibility come from for a guy his age? Falcon wasn't like... Rundas. Rundas... could generate and shape ice with his body. Rundas... was a Phyrigisian. Falcon... was not a Phyrigisian, as far as she knew. That effectively qualified as weirdo material in her book. She laughed a little too. "Perhaps you have a subconscious ability to control the energy of the atoms on the surface of your skin to such a degree that they ignite. Sort of like blushing, I suppose. The act raises the temperature of your skin a little but... Not quite that much ( ... )

She'd probably feel more special if her head wasn't pounding like a marching band run over by parade. The Advil was working a little.

Laughter was always a much better medicine of course. One Samus rarely received, at that.

"I suppose." Samus stretched until she was completely sprawled out on the couch with one of her arms dangling lazily over the edge of the armrest. As reluctant as she was to end the conversation, she knew she should rest. And Falcon probably had a billion and one whatever a Falcon does on Sunday things to do. Maybe she could... make this a part of her Sunday routine too. "...If you need anything don't hesitate... I know I said that already but... yeah. I'll catch up with you later in the week. We can start working on the Flyer or something. If you want."

Oh yes. A billion Falcon does things on Sunday things to do. Things like draw blueprints and do laundry and go to the grocery store and maybe vacuum the carpets in his apartment. Funtimes.

But they'd have to get done and besides, he was going to see her tomorrow when they went to the beach. It wasn't like hanging up the phone meant he wasn't going to speak to her ever again. He was still reluctant to do so. Maybe they could do it again. He'd like that, he decided.

"I know." Falcon hoped she could hear him smiling, a genuine smile that was rare for him. "And you know if you need anything you can just ask."

The thought of the whole...family, for lack of a better word, going out tomorrow and the promise to work on the Flyer made it easier to end the phone call. Not that he really wanted to, but...they both had things on their agendas, and for Samus that meant some peace and quiet because she probably had a hell of a headache.

"I'll see you tomorrow for the beach. And...yeah. I'd like that."

"Okay." Yeah, this hangover couldn't go away any faster and tomorrow couldn't come any sooner. She was already drawing blueprints in her mind and wondering if he was really joking about bringing a pillow or not and how much extra suntan lotion and wet towels she should pack for Jeff and Ionia.

She was silent on the phone for a few moments, still reluctant to hang up. More than a few moments, really. Mostly she liked listening to him smile. It was a beautiful sound.

"...Okay I'll see you tomorrow."

This was totally Falcon's favorite game, except it wasn't. The "I really don't want to hang up the phone so I'm going to wait until the other person does it except they don't want to hang up the phone either so we're going to have a few moments of awkward silence" game.

But the silence wasn't awkward. Far from it. It should have been awkward, but instead it was comfortable and didn't feel empty at all. There was no need to say anything because anything either of them could possibly say was already understood.

Silences could go on too long and not long enough all at the same time. "Sounds good." He replied, finally. "Bye, Samus."

For where this conversation originally started Samus was... quite happy to see [or hear rather] where it was now. Comfortable silences and all. She still wished she this conversation could have been in person but... that would be happening soon enough anyway.

Samus really really needed to rest, her aching body was growing just as stubborn as she was about ignoring it.

"See you next mission later," She hesitated, just barely probably not even a split second but then again Falcon was very good at reading her; he might of caught it. She wanted to call him Doug but it didn't quite make it out as opposed to the other name she was far more used to calling him by, "Falcon."

She made the move after that and pressed that little button that cut off the silence between them and and left her with... silence.

Despite the pounding headache, she rested easy and slept soundly. For the first time in a long time.

Then she sent him a billion tenacious little blank text messages, the end.
