If you will remember some time back I mentioned picking up on old laptop for my cousin and she decided that even though it's exactly what she asked for, she didn't want it. I have instead ordered 64MB of RAM for it (for $14) and maxed it out at 96MB of RAM. I'm going to send it to my sister. She wanted something to play solitare and Majohng on, ( Read more... )

I'd normally say Win2Kpro slamlander October 4 2005, 21:35:51 UTC
but it's a bit short of RAM. Win2K needs at least 128K and is happier with 256K+. Anything less then that hammers the swapper too much.

WinNT is useless. No updates and config is a bitch anyway.

I hate to say it but Win98SE may be the best bet.

As you say, Linux is a config nightmare.
