I'd be happy about it. The cats, however, won't be. They live for the few minutes they can wrestle the grocery bags away from us when we come home from the store ;)

I am sure that there will be no shortage of other types of plastic. And anyway, this is happening in China. It's gonna take a wacky liberal in the white house before anything like this would ever fly. And even then, it will probably take 10 years to implement it and for it to reach Arkansas.

HEB stores in Austin, TX are already trying to get rid of them, and I think Whole Foods stores no longer uses them. Woo! I love my big tote bags.

I was all excited when I heard this becoming a new trend, but then realized I use just about every single bag i get as a trash bag or padding in boxes (since i move every 5 minutes). I don't buy tons of stuff, so I usually end up short on bags, even though i always save them! So i have decided that this would actually cost me in having to buy more bags myself instead of having them handed to me.

Although I know most people aren't as mindly of their bags, and they do throw a bunch of them away. So maybe it's still good even though it would have a negative affect on me.
