As a half-white person, I'm never considered white. But I was raised with whites. I think white. So I keep forgetting that I don't look white. It must be really annoying for half-black people.

Coraline, the Movie
I don't watch movies. I probably haven't gone to the theater to watch a movie in 10 or 15 years. The only one I really remember is Arachnophobia in 1990 with my beautiful beloved Aaron. Maybe one after that, but it was so good, I can't remember it.

Clutter control using Craigslist!!
It took me a while, but two weeks ago I realized I could get rid of stuff using Craigslist using the FREE section. The back yard has sooo many damn pots of plants I don't have the heart to kill/throw away. I was totally out of pots. The Nine Tailors by Dorothy Sayers (audio)
I haven't finished it yet, but I will. Somehow. This book is filled with an agonizing amount of detail about boring bell-ringing. If I was reading it, I probably wouldn't notice because I'd be skipping huge swaths of unnecessary inanity about bells and descriptions of churches. I haven't noticed this in her other books.

Marrying the Captain by Carla Kelly
I love Carla Kelly's books and always buy them new. I'm sure she's as delightful and nice as her books. She has a picture of herself in the back of the book and it's refreshing. I don't think she's wearing any makeup, her eyebrows aren't plucked to a fare-thee-well, and she isn't wearing glamour clothes. She looks like the mom-next-door, someone ( Read more... ) -

Sprouts
When we first got the flyer from Sprouts several months ago, I though it was another Whole Foods. I'd finally made a trek to a local Whole Foods a couple of months ago. LORD PETER VIEWS THE BODY by Dorothy Sayers - audio
This is a collection of Peter Wimsey short stories. I am not a fan of short stories, but these worked amazingly well and I enjoyed them. This was read by Ian Carmichael, who did a good job. Unfortunately, I kept visualizing Carmichael, and he is sooo NOT my idea of Wimsey.
