Situation vacant at Harman Hay Publications

Dec 10, 2012 15:03

Virtual assistant

I posted on FB this morning: "I need an assistant. Just putting it out there, because the fact that I don't have an assistant is making it very difficult to get around to finding the time to hire an assistant."

Further to that, here is my job description for this role. ( More )

work, foundations revealed, harman hay, history unstitched, your wardrobe unlock'd

OK, not to be the crass Yank in the room. But what are you thinking of in terms of compensation? Inquiring minds will want to know... ;)

I wanted to get this up before I could find an excuse to put it off... currently researching what the going rate is - and what our capacity is - so that I can add it...

Out of interest (although I might like to apply as well) how does payment to employees work internationally? This is something I've always wondered about this kind of business. Presumably the pay received by the employee would fluctuate with the exchange rate between the countries as well?

I pay pounds sterling to UK writers, and US$ to my US freelancers, so the business takes the currency conversion fluctuation on and takes it in its stride. We work in two currencies so it's easy to do. Does that make sense?

You have no idea how much I wish I could apply for this - but I already have a job, and it drains every drop out of me on a daily basis. I wish I could work for you doing this, something that would *fill* me with inspiration rather than exhaust me. Best of luck to you finding the lucky person who will get to do this. On the other hand, if you wanted a crack legal secretary, I'd be your girl ;) TudorLady aka Meagn

wow this would be PERFECT for me as I'm in school and need something to fit in on my afternoons/evenings off. As soon as I make it through finals I'll be spiffing up my resume and sending it your way!
