I have a lot to write about- but right now something jumped out that is going to make me put off that mound of writing- at least for tonight.

Tonight I found out that an old acquaintance died a few days ago. To me, he was at most a friend of casual friends- I only met him a few times, but all the memories were positive. I would go months between seeing him at shows, yet he would approach me to say "Hi" and we'd exchange some friendly banter. I remember cracking up at him doing an overzealous impression of a drunk person at a house party/show in DeKalb, of his overzealous moshing leading to a dislocated shoulder at a hardcore show and his ability to make everyone around him laugh.

He seemed to have a very positive impact on pretty much everyone he met. Even though I can't remember him in any bands, he seemed to give just as much of his blood and sweat to the old DuPage hardcore scene as almost anybody. I'll just remember him as a very funny and seemingly positive guy- I don't think it's my place to talk about the way he died, but the fact that he's gone is rather absurd. To me, he was just a guy I was happy to occasionally see and chat with at shows, a nice guy in the background, but he meant a lot to a lot of people and the world is a bit worse off without him.

R.I.P. Dave Tayag and all my best wishes to everyone who cared about him.
