Oooh, some great photos there.

Man, it's so weird to think that you people had never actually seen a live mantis before.
Honestly, I never really considered the fact that they just don't live in some places...

Thanks!

It's a culture shock, really. But Seattle makes up for not having mantises by having mountains, rain, and really tall buildings. XD

that last one almost reminds me of kindergarten kids' school pictures, but far cuter.

It's freaking adorable, isn't it? Way more so than kids, yeah.

I would certainly watch a cooking journal and/or read entries in this journal that were cooking related. Always interested in picking up good recipes. Alternatively, if you made it an LJ community, I'd likely post on it too :)

Hmm, a community does sound like a good idea. There are a whole bunch already, though, so I suppose I'll poke through them first...

oh /cool beans/

Mantises are awesome, but I don't think they live this far north, at least not on this side of the Rockies. :(

I'm not actually sure what their usual range is, but I imagine that if Seattle doesn't have them, you probably wouldn't either. It's a shame, though; they're so nifty.

Thanks! She kept making these really human-like gestures with her arms and head... it was almost creepy, but reeeaally cool.
