Bike Messengers are Amazing!

My wallet fell out of my pocket on my way to school this morning. I had spent the last two hours freaking out and feeling sad and angry. I went to food for thought to get coffee with the dollar wadded up in my pocket, seeing a kid from drawing class there. I recently lost my wallet while riding my bike home from my friend's place. I apparently lost it two blocks from my house, and the woman who found it MySpaced me and brought it over the next day.

That's one reason I don't like to put things in my pockets, generally if something falls out of them it's hard to notice.

That's pretty great :-)

Lina lost her wallet similarly in Clark Park, and after freaking out about it for a week it arrived in the mail intact. Some kind person had apparently dropped it into a mailbox. I love it when people actually do the right thing. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I have some tendancies toward libertarian-ness, which we all know. ANd there have been times in my life when I think if I'd found a wallet with cash in it, I would have kept the cash and tried to get the wallet back to the person.
Then, two years ago on the Montana trip, one of the folks lost a wallet with over $300 cash in it. He cancelled all cards, etc but was really bummed about it. And then, when we got home, it was in his mailbox, cash and all. The level of surprise and joy among all of us was enough to convince me to always return them intact should I ever find one..... and if doing-the-right-thing isn't enough motivation for me, the thought of confusing and shocking people by doing the right thing IS enough.
