Potential Customers LJ Lost

If you use a FREE LiveJournal account, it doesn’t mean that your voice doesn’t count.

If you were unhappy and dissatisfied with the way in which the Strikethrough- and the Boldout-related incidents were handled by 6A/LJ, and decided not to spend your money on their products and services, make it known.

Make it noticed.

1. First account I opened in March and second one in June
2. No. I'm a student. :P And I don't have Paypal nor credit card. And I was ok with Plus/later Basic account. It served my needs.
3. Read 2nd answer
4. Ummm, let fandom be and stop harassing them. Give me more icons. Scrapbook. More layouts. Creating communities. All for Basic account.
5. I'll see how fandom moves, but I'll keep this LJ, because some people didn't migrated to other journal sites and Lj is only way to get to them. If I find journalling site that i better than LJ and has most of the fandom there I'd more permanently i suppose.

1. How long have you been with LJ?
My first account (for RP) was created in 2003.

2. Have you ever thought of getting a paid/permanent account? What prevented you from doing it in the past?
I've had a plus account for my very active hobby photoblog bailey_spice and was going to upgrade it to paid before all the issues with the striketrough.

3. Why did you decide not to become a paid member now? (What is your biggest complaint?)
The main issues are with the way LJ handles its customer service. I really dont want to be affiliated with a company that refrains from directly addressing the concerns of its userbase.

4. What can 6A/LJ do to win you back?
At this point I dont really know.

5. Are you going to stay with LJ as a free member, or are you going to migrate to another blogging website?
I'm going to leave my accounts up for a while until most people have realized I've moved. Then I'll delete I suppose.

1. How long have you been with LJ? Since 2001. This is my third account, which was opened on 8-18-2004.

2. Have you ever thought of getting a paid/permanent account? What prevented you from doing it in the past? Yes. I didn't have a credit card.

3. Why did you decide not to become a paid member now? (What is your biggest complaint?) It's looking pretty grim for LJ these days. I do hope things will be resolved so I can stick around though.

4. What can 6A/LJ do to win you back? Improve their customer service and at least have a consistent and clear TOS (mostly the enforcement of the TOS).

5. Are you going to stay with LJ as a free member, or are you going to migrate to another blogging website? I'm going to stay as long as things don't get too crazy. I already have a blogger, which I don't use and don't understand. If LJ goes completely insane then I guess I'll lose my comms and stick with my old fashioned journal.

2.5 years

2. Have you ever thought of getting a paid/permanent account? What prevented you from doing it in the past?
Yes. I always said as soon as I had extra cash I would put a paid account or more icons--I have an insane icon collection and it always frustrates me to limit it to 6. I never wanted Paid+ because I detest ads.

3. Why did you decide not to become a paid member now? (What is your biggest complaint?)
The treatment of customers and the contradictory TOS. I don't like LJ saying "we will delete any harmful content ... oh except this and this and this ... basically anything we might think is child porn, and anything else will get a warning"

4. What can 6A/LJ do to win you back?I just want clarity and consistence. LJ has a right to ban whatever it wants, but they need to clearly outline it, and enforce it correctly. This goes hand in hand with more responsive, and less condescending, customer service. I've worked phones, angry people can be assholes, but that does not allow you to take ( ... )

1) It's been about 3 1/2 years now.

2) I had a paid account for a while in the middle there.

3) I had let it lapse with the intention of renewing it at a later date. But then in recent months..ha ha we all know what happened there.

4) Pull their heads out of their asses. So probably nothing.

5) I'm going to keep this journal as there are friends who aren't moving, and I still want to watch. But I've created a greatest journal where I can keep in touch with fandom and those users that moved.
