Bought a new lamp for my bedroom last weekend. It's a nice lamp. The thing is, if it gets left on for more than 2 hours, the switch won't work. The switch will turn until it screws completely off the lamp itself! Which is really annoying when I fall asleep with the lamp on and have to get out of bed to unplug it to turn the damn thing off. This

Regarding the lamp, can't you take it back to the store and say that it's broken so that you get a new one? This one's obviously not working right.

And regarding the pool: EEEEKKKK! :-S

I thought I had lost the receipt for the lamp but I found it yesterday. Phew! So sometime this week I'll be exchanging lamps. :)

I second the 'take the lamp back and get a replacement.' Sounds like a potential hazard.

As far as the pool, I know that particular joy - I have to house-sit for my parents, which means checking the pool and I've found birds and rabbits (their house backs onto a nature preserve and golf course). My brain has a little argument of biologist vs human nature ("It's dead animal, you've done dissections, but yuck!)

Returning and exchanging lamps is on my to-do list this week.

They've added Paul McGillion to the LA con. I'm trying to get my sis to go. She says I'm crazy. *rolls eyes at little sis*

I saw that - yay Paul. Now if they just add DH and JF... Can you imagine the three of them on stage together? I'm trying not to think about how much I could spend on photo ops.
