[See Satoshi. See Satoshi contentedly work part-time in Violet City forever.

Yes, he and his sister have totally been there for the majority of their stay, taking on part-time jobs in order to boost their wallets. Satoshi, honestly, would have rather liked for his sister to stay comfortably somewhere, but she insisted on working as well. And as ( Read more... )

Nii Nii!

[ Satoko is finishing up her job as a housekeeper, so of course calls Satoshi to see how he's doing. ]

Are you still working, Nii Nii?

Ah, Satoko!

[It had been odd, getting used to this new, independent girl that was his sister, but he's getting used to it. Slowly.]

Ahaha...I'm almost done. [He had to rebuild that pyramid, after all.]

You're okay, right? Do you want me to get you anything before I go?

Good good! We should go somewhere tonight and star gaze! The sky looks quite lovey at night, I must say! [ /Satoko doesn't want to pay the hotel fee tonight.

She considers a moment. It's occurred to her that her Nii Nii isn't quite ready for Satoko 2.0 yet. So she decides to humor him. ]

Well, perhaps some sort of snack for our Pokemon, hm? Li-san has been working so very hard to catch up with everyone in levels~ [ "Li-san" is her Gastly. Because oh yes

Satoko Houjou has a Gastly.

Johto is doomed to an eternity of pranks. ]

[Baby sister has a Gastly. Johto is truly doomed forever.

But Satoshi, pushover that he is, just answers her with a smile.]

I guess we should get more used to camping out, right? I'll get something for everyone.

I'd return home; I have things to accomplish.

Aahaha...that's understandable. I guess most people would want to go back home, right?

Oh, umm...

[...Very hard to explain.]

If my sister was there, then I'd need to go home, but...

...I guess there's not much to go back to anymore.

I skipped it and went back later.

Won't do you any harm.

[... Of course, she skipped it because she LOST the first time and then got run out of town by ghost Pokemon and a looming police warrant before she could challenge him again but HAHAHA HE DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW THAT.]

Anyway, I'd stay.

Good luck finding other people who think that, though.

Ah, okay...I just don't want my sister to get too bored and I heard the place is kind of tough, so....

[He trails off. And then makes a thoughtful noise.] They probably just get harder though, right....? Ahahaha, I guess I'm no good as a trainer.

[He nods at Heather's answer, smiling gently.]

...I'd probably stay too.

Eh. Depends. I wiped the floor with the Leader's FACE at the second gym because I had a type advantage. First one? Much harder in comparison. [It paid to have a fire starter when you fought with Bugsy.]

And... huh. You're one of the first people who's said that.

Oh, umm...what kind of type did you have? [His are mainly psychic....huh.

He laughs at the last question, albeit it's a nervous one.]

Ahahaha...well, if my sister was still at home, I guess I'd need to go back, but...it's kind of nice here.

[No relatives to strike at you for cursing your house with their presence. No villagers to shun you while you were expected to smile and accept your fate. And most importantly, Satoko smiled.]

I would definitely go home if the option was given to me. I've made a lot of friends here, but Ojou-sama is waiting for me, and she's what I've been pushing to get back to all this time.

[He just grins, honestly happy for him.]

That's good to hear. It's great you have someone waiting for you, Hayate.

Really...? I think most of the people here have someone waiting for them... It's just a matter of whether or not they're here as well.

...I hope not.

[He doesn't want his sister waiting for him. Not there. He wants her with him, happily traveling and always smiling and far, far away from their aunt and uncle.

He'd go back there in an instant if she was there. But he doesn't want to.]

There is nothing wrong if you decide to wait a while longer in the city you are in before moving on. It's a good time to make some savings, train up your team, and move on once you have challenged the gym.

Ah, I see...thanks for the advice. We've been here a while, but I guess we should think about going soon...that's what trainers have to do, right?

Of course, but you don't have a time limit, so there is no hurry to do it at all.

It's all up to personal preference.
