Death Takes a Holiday ... but the Angst Doesn't

I had trouble writing a review for this episode. This blog doesn't really qualify either, but it's the most I could do. I seem to be having trouble putting my thoughts on this episode into words.

I just don't know what to think. Our poor, broken boys. I wish they would just sit down & freakin' TALK for once! *smacks them both*

This show is going to be the death of me!!!!! Or, at least of my sanity!

I do think that this season finale is going to be the darkest, most cruel, scariest, and deadly cliffhanger of the entire series. Hiatus really will be Hell, I think, even more so than last year, even worse than season one's crash.

That said, however, I have to believe in my innermost core that by the time the series ends, the brothers will have rebuilt themselves and each other, and will once more be shoulder to shoulder and back to back, and united.

Choice. Family. Love. That seems to me to be what it's really all about.

(And since it took me ten frigging pages to process my review and commentary on this one, I'm not going to try to do it again but shorter here - sorry! *grin*)

I agree, Mary. I don't see the rift as a permanent thing. Once they move past this, whether it's this season or next, I'm sure Sam and Dean will come out of it stronger than ever. No matter what happens, they're still brothers and they would still die for each other.

There is definitely a heavy feeling of foreboding going into the last episodes. This episode is setting the stage for the rest of the season and next week's looks worse than this one.

Personally I'm loving the angst and where they've taken the series. Those warnings from both Pamela and Tessa were ominous indeed and the lines are being blurred between what's good and what's bad...both in the players and in the actions they are taking.

I'm usually a fan of the angst too, but this is gettin to be more than my poor heart can handle!
