I'm not a Facebooker and won't be able to go to the show but I would seriously donate what little I could to a cause like this. Please let me know if they come up with another way to donate.

A nice, similar story for your friends: almost 20 years ago a good friend's youngest son was diagnosed with a similar leukaemia. Not only did he fully recover, the frail little post-treatment boy became a 6'2" strapping hockey player and is awaiting word on his applications for graduate school. There is hope!

After his treatment and during kindy he developed a penchant for wearing frocks. His parents, being good commies, told the school: 1.) they had not issue with it, and 2.) they expected the school to make sure his classmates weren't total assholes about it. This became, of course, the archetypal "how Mum humiliates you to your friends and girlfriends for the rest of your life story."

I'm in the area later this week. Is it too short notice for someplace I could add a Benefit Concert? I don't punk, but I'd be delighted to offer my support with my different style. Musicians must come to the aid of musicians. Can you utilize my act?

There is nothing "officially" planned for the next Blixa benefit until August 28th

As for setting anything up on the quick, I am a bit out of the loop unfortunately, so I can't think of any reasonable gigs or who/where to direct you to. If I come up with some info I will let you know asap.
