This was the week for Lionel Richie to smile at a rocked-out version of "Hello" that means at least one person under age 30 still remembers him, Phil Collins to weep as David destroyed "Another Day in Paradise" and Ramiele shredded "Against All Odds", and Pat Benetar to go "WTF?" at an acoustic folksy rendition of "Love is a Battlefield" by Brooke.

And so are Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, and Jimmy Kimmel.  I guess the strike thing is wearing thin.

Just fulfilled one of my annual Christmastime rituals by watching the made for TV adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" starring George C. Scott as Ebeneezer Scrooge, Edward Woodward as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and David Warner as Bob Cratchit.  It's still by far my favorite version of the story.  The Muppet one is so-so, and the animated Disney ( Read more... )
