Phonetics is out to get me.

So, I have this class called Phonetics and Phonology, right? Well, I have to do some transcriptions for tomorrow. This would be normal and I would do it without any problem if it weren't for one teeny tiny detail... The text I have to transcribe is in a cassette and none of the cassette players I've gotten my hand on seem to be working. I even got

Crap. That sucks. But if even the lab doesn't have appropriate equipment, the instructor can't expect you get the work done. (If your entry means that the lab has the right equipment, but is closed at this time of night, then you might have a more difficult time defending yourself, but all the same, cassettes? No one uses cassettes anymore... I bought my most recent stereo in 2006 and haven't once used a tape in its tape player. It's almost like asking you to play an 8track or a reel-to-reel!)

We don't have access to the lab unless we have classes. The instructor gave us the recording at the end of the lecture on Monday and I have classes with her only 2 times a week (Monady and Wednesday).

I wasn't expecting the cassette players to FREAKING DIE ON ME.
(By the way, I'm almost finishing the amigurumi doll and he'll have removable clothes).

Then, as a college instructor myself, I'd say you have a completely viable reason to not have your work done and to get an extension. ::decisive nod:: Not that I have any, y'know, say over such things for you, but ... :)
