1940's Paperbacks, Fun and Funky

One of the things about being an antique dealer is that sometimes you buy large lots of stuff--the good and bad. Getting everything cleaned up and sorted is fun, dirty and plain cool-and tiring.  This week, we bought the contents of an attic. It was a mix of furniture, kitchen stuff, barn junk, and boxes and boxes of books.

I love vintage cover art. Powells Books here in Portland has a map of their huge store that mimics those old Dells with the crime scene.

I'd love to see that. My husband actually just found another stash of Dells. Right now, I'm looking at YOU ONLY HANG ONCE by H W Roden. It's got a map of the Caldwell Bldg. murder scene, complete with a paper strewn office and closet.

It's lucky I'm not a hoarder or I'd keep everything.
