One of the things about being an antique dealer is that sometimes you buy large lots of stuff--the good and bad. Getting everything cleaned up and sorted is fun, dirty and plain cool-and tiring. This week, we bought the contents of an attic. It was a mix of furniture, kitchen stuff, barn junk, and boxes and boxes of books.

They may not be the most valuable, but I loved the paperbacks from the late1940’s. The covers have a style which truly speaks of the time period.

Some of the books' back covers have crime scenes on them back, which I think is fun.

Also some of the back covers have a special stamp saying the book can be shipped to a boy in the armed forces anywhere for 3 cents.

It makes me think about the covers which are popular now-a-days, and wonder what people will think of them in the 2080's.
