January...

I'll be bluntly honest - this month hasn't been a good one...

I've done scraps of research for some of my Tasks, but made only a little progress, and completed none. I have quite a bit on my mind at the moment, my main focus being my employment status, so you can understand how I might be somewhat distracted.

I'm going to count The King's Speech towards my "classic movies" Task (Task 28), even though it doesn't fit the "before 1976" condition, as it's the kind of film I'd normally not go and see, yet I did, and I enjoyed it. That condition is rather getting in the way of making progress with this Task, and I'm passing up a lot of more recent "5 star" movies on TV because they're not old enough. Seems stupid to me - and I thought the task up!

I get the feeling TKS will be counted as a classic in the future - and not just because of all the awards!

Oh, and I cooked dinner again, and bought another book, albeit "only" a graphic novel of Lovecraft's At The Mountains Of Madness at my local bookshop. It's paper, it has pages, and stuff to read in it - that makes it a book. :P

I'm starting to look at my travel Tasks, and several are definitely achieveable without too much hassle. The trouble in Egypt doesn't help, knocking a possible destination off the list for now, but there's a whole lot of places left. Pity it's almost as expensive to go to Tokyo as it is to go to Iceland.

So, where do I go from here? I would very much like to cross off some Tasks fairly soon, so that I stand a chance of completing at least 50% of them by Mission's end. I know there are Tasks that require just a little bit of application on my behalf, and I just need to knuckle down, and net myself some *SCORE*s. New month, new enthusiasm! Next month, I hope to have more uplifting news!
