The List | Previous Updates: 2010
January - February - March - April - May - June - July - August - September

This month's review is a little bit early (only by three days, though) as today marks an important milestone in my Mission - I now have exactly TWO YEARS TO GO...

The SCORE Column...
Just this very day, I have achieved one of my key SCOREs, by technically completing Task 92 Pay Mum my promised share of the new boiler. Various bills have been arriving on Mum's "desk" lately, and I have offered to cover an appropriate amount of the costs. Job done!

NEW TASKS!
I've been pondering this for a while, so I made it official: Task 97 Build a diddley bow. Even I can surely play a one-string guitar...

In Progress...
The majority of my ongoing tasks are proceeding satisfactorally, but the real millstone round my neck is still Task 28 Watch a classic movie for each month of my Mission's duration. Being at work makes this a real struggle, when the vast majority of "classic" movies on TV are on when I'm working. Damn, I'm really needing to find a way round this one...

In a couple of weeks, I'll be chalking up the first SCORE on Task 27 See one stage show a year as the Doctor Who Live comes to Glasgow mid-October. Friday the 15th is the night, bookended by an extended shopping expedition - should be fun!

In The Planning Stages...
I'm now in a position to start considering several more money-intensive Tasks (see the Task 92 SCORE! above), and several more are likely to be dealt with as plans to move house come together - it looks like I'll inherit a not-so-broken chair, which will semi-address Task 83 Get my bloody chair fixed!, the ideal opportunity for a new computer desk - Task 87 Get a computer desk that DOESN'T have a metal frame! - is fast approaching, and I'll certainly be doing something about Task 53 Deal with my "overspill" of crap, one way or another...

And finally...

Hey, What Do You Mean By...
...Task 91 Create a personal goddess?

This is something I've been trying to break down into simple terms for a while, and this week, I succeeded:Posted at core.thepatentdragon.com...

So, what does “create a personal goddess” actually mean?

Two things, essentially…

1) create a “sculpture” in the spirit of modern art sculptor Allen Jones (Source: biography and portfolio at sculpture.org.uk), taking as its immediate influence his (in)famous Chair, Table and Hatstand (1969), and

2) in the process create a physical expression of hopes, beliefs and fantasies...

See you next month!
