I was actually very surprised at finding myself enjoying this episode as well. I liked that there was actual continuity, that they remembered things from the past that happened and thought, 'hey, lets use that again' and it wasn't a Weeping Angel.
Is it weird that Rigsy has more interesting and consistent back story, in a total of 2 episodes than Clara has had in 2 seasons?

... but: Unlike our hostess who threatened that she wasn't going to bother with this series, I made no such promise - but at this point have watched only the first (and possibly) the second episode of the season.
That said, when you asked,
Is it weird that Rigsy has more interesting and consistent back story, in a total of 2 episodes than Clara has had in 2 seasons?
I felt compelled to open my toothy mouth and offer an opinion.
It should have been weird, but it ain't. For an ostensible co-protagonist, Clara has been a thoroughly unconvincing creation, and not a character at all. Impossible Girl to Implausible Teacher, she was really only what The Current Episode's Plot required her to be. Which is a damned shame, because I thought Jenna Coleman pretty damned good work, making a silken character out of a sow's script.

I have been waiting on your rants about this season and have been very disappointed. I honestly thought you were sticking to your declaration that you weren't going to be watching it anymore.

When it comes to writing I've been blocking on a lot of fronts, but especially reviews - books, tv, the whole shebang. I'm going on holiday in the near future; maybe that will clear some of the blockage.

Won't swear to it, but I think I only declared the possibility. Nevertheless, to this point, that's pretty much been what happened. (Except that I still feel a contractual obligation to do last Christmas' special ...)
If all the maps had it until Google you might have been living on the corner of a paper street which, though it technically includes trap streets, usually refers to streets that were planned but never built. There were a lot of those around the apartment we had a few years ago and our GPS would get really confused at the start and end of trips.
Possibly. I just know the big map on the wall of the library had the nonexistent street on it, and I think the one in the phone book had it, too. None of the various online mapping services today have it, though. However, I think I remember Google Maps did at one time have it in its earlier days, but it has since been corrected.
Clara died from trying to be the Doctor again. She "out-clevered" herself, or maybe she knew and just wanted to rescue Rigsy at any cost. One reviewer asked the question, and it's a good one: Why didn't the Doctor offer to take the mark from her? He has been known to die for a companion (Peri and Rose), so why not now? He seemed upset enough at the prospect of her dying. He could have at least asked, even if it wasn't possible to transfer it any more, or to transfer it specifically to him.
And what did Ashildr (Me) need with his Confession Dial, not to mention his TARDIS key? Now, he's alone, without a companion and without his TARDIS (and the transmat ring). A frightening combination indeed, since he's very angry. I suppose we might find out what "they" needed a soul for, maybe even who "they" are....

Or something like that.
