The new people are still kids.

How will they be helpful?

Ah, Squall.

Children are the most influenced of humans- an adult would be difficult to waver over to our cause, as they would not have the required abilities for the best part of the time. Children also have the best physical condition, and can easily learn any of the lessons in life. That, and children are easily molded to suit a purpose. Their abilities will be helpful.

And I'm sure an adult would be fairly disturbed by the fact they are the only adults, no? They might even abondon a team, which would not be a good thing in the long run.

I see. The numbers should be an advantage, regardless of age.

That is also true.

Given the extent of... recent regretable losses, the more people to take up arms is advantagous.

Why do we have to recruit newbies from far away? There are still plenty of people outside, I bet! Let's try and find them instead! Can these new guys even fight properly?

Relax, Nena. The number of escapees has... fallen in recent years, along with useful change powers, so it is most definately a system that will be good to install.

There may be people outside, but it would be difficult to find them without suffering losses ourselves. After some training, yes, they will be able to, as I explained to Squall.

But there are definitely plenty who are still out there, surviving by themselves! Like my brothers!

...

...hey, can I train one of them? Please?

And I'm sure those strong enough will find us- and any patrols that head their way. Patrols are out as we speak.

.... you want to.. hmm.

I suppose willing participants are needed. I will see if there are any amongst them.

Wait-wait-wait... so the whole reason why I'm here is because you dragged me here from my own world? What about all the money Gongora promised me?

...man this is so unfair.

You are correct... Jansen, wasn't it?

As soon as our world is returned to normal, you will be returned home to whatever you were doing before you arrive here. I can assure you of that.

Yeah that's right and don't you go forgetting it either!

Look this... isn't exactly what I was bargaining for when I agreed to take on this job. I thought... w-well it doesn't really matter what I thought I would be doing this definately isn't it. I've got no connections to this 'world' or whatever and I really don't think I should be risking my ass for a world I've got nothing to do with without getting something in return y'know? So I think I'm gonna' need a bit... more y'know? Something to motivate me? Heh heh...

I assure you, my memory circuits as well backed up and firewalled, so I doubt I ever will.

If you don't fight, then you won't get back home. Is that not motivation enough? ... hmm. You are indeed more of an adult that a child. Those monsters outside... we have the only equipment for fighting them, and the only place of sanctuary away from them. If you go outside, they will be down on you within fifteen minutes. Do you really want to become a monster, Jansen?

... ah, but that's.. a lesson for another day. If you were suggesting money as motivation, mind... [smiles] I'm afraid that's out of the question. I am merely a hologram, and money has been nonexistant for at least fifteen years here.

I don't get none of your geekspeak 'bout these weird computers, yo, but...

I'm still dead, right?

Not at all, Beat. You are alive as... well, not me, since I'm not technically alive, but.. as alive as all the other children.

Then what the hell was the Game all for? They tell me I gonna go up in smoke in five days for breakin' the rules!

Whatchu do with Phones?

amachinemind June 17 2008, 20:03:52 UTC
Let me explain once again, Beat.

This is not Shibuya, or the Game. This is another world, another place- all the rules in Shibuya do not apply here. Once you are set back, you will be sent back to the first or second day of the Game.

... as for Phones, I assume you are meaning Sakuraba Neku? He is not here. He is back in the Game.

Mr. Shade did you bring my friends here too? You know, Riku and Kairi and Donald and Goofy.

Just Shade, Sora.

... I have... attempted. For one of them, at least. I cannot say which.
