PAIRING: Olivia/Alex

A/N: Inspired in part by the 30”+ of snow currently blanketing the Baltimore region. But… there are no good hometown characters to play with here, so I’ll use Alex, Liv and the Big Apple.
Blizzard- Part I
“The judge cleared the docket for the weekend.”
Twisting my head around, I see Alex Cabot standing with her arms wrapped around her body, trying to ward off the brutal cold. With one last glance at the empty and snow covered streets below, I turn away to face my lover. Smiling, I cross the small balcony and reach for her, my hands coming to rest on her shoulders and rubbing her cotton covered arms gently to warm them with friction. “Too much snow for anyone to do anything today, even workaholic lawyers and judges,” I offer with a grin.
“Even raping and killing each other?” Alex asks with a sardonic smile.
“Here’s hoping,” I murmur, “I could do with a long weekend free of heinous crimes. How about you?”
Alex offers me a knowing smile. “Most assuredly, Detective.”
I turn Alex and guide her back into the warmth of the apartment, turning to slide the balcony door closed and lock it. Out of habit, I reach for my phone on the end table, checking it once again. Still only the text from Munch an hour ago, saying the captain told us to take the day off and he’d call if anything big happened that required our attention. It takes a lot to slow down the people of the Big Apple-both law abiding citizens and criminals alike-but 30 inches of snow in a 12 hour period will do that for you.
My mind again drifts to the snow covered streets devoid of people. In all my years here, I’d never seen anything quite like it. Alex flops down on the couch, opening her arms and offering me a warm respite from the bitter cold temperatures and frozen precipitation still falling thickly outside. I collapse into her arms, happy to take all the breaks I’m offered when they come up.
Alex’s arms tighten around me as I lean into her, my eyes tracking the current network drama on TV without much interest. I feel her breath warm on my neck and turn my head slightly as she burrows her face into my shoulder. I kiss her head gently, my eyes closing as I breath in the scent of her perfume and shampoo. “Whatever shall we do with our time?” I ask the blonde.
She lifts her head, her eyes sparkling as they meet mine. “I’ve got ideas,” she offers with a diabolical grin.
I shift my seat, turning to wrap an arm loosely around her shoulders. “Oh, really, councilor,” I say, letting my voice drop, “Do tell?”
Alex grins-an infectious come-and-get-me grin that I just cannot resist. “This is more of a show situation, don’t you think?” she murmurs, her tongue darting out to run slowly across her lips.
Without a warning she bounds off the couch in the direction of the bedroom, and I am left sitting on the couch, my mind and body momentarily distracted by her previous action. “Hey!” I yelp, startled by my girlfriends sudden flight, “Just where do you think you’re going?”
I jump off the couch and chase her down, catching up to her just beyond the bedroom doorway. My arms encircle my quarry, and I let my weight and our combined momentum carry us forward onto the bed where we land in a pile. After a brief but fruitless struggle on her part, I pin Alex’s arms above her head with my hands, leaning on my elbows to smirk down at her. “That was easy,” I murmur with a big grin, pressing a quick kiss to her nose, “Not challenging at all.”
Alex spits me with a mock-glare, her gaze frosty, but her eyes sparkling in a way that tells me it’s all for fun. “I let you catch me,” she says, and I laugh.
“Oh, did you?”
She nods with a small smile. “I know you can’t resist the thrill of the chase, Detective,” she offers, her voice low and seductive.
I blink. “I was fairly certain that we were beyond the ‘chase’ stage, Councilor.”
Her eyes on my face, she wriggles slightly beneath me, somehow touching all the right places at once. “Oh, we are,” she assures me coolly, “Mostly.”
My breath quickens and I swallow hard and glance away from her enticing eyes, willing myself to maintain control. “I see. What must I do to ensure that you’ll never run again? Hmm?”
As I return my gaze to her face, Alex breaks into a slow and satisfied smirk. “Oh, I’m sure you’ll think of something. I’m not going anywhere for a while. And, hopefully, neither are you.”
