With my forays in France finished, I know it's time for a new start, a new town, and a new journal.

And as I'll be moving to Chicago soon to attend grad school at Northwestern, I'm going with the name pass_da_pierogi. I know, I know, but pass_the_pierogi was just one character too long so I thought I might as well put my title in the local dialect. ;)

In fact, you've inspired me to walk up to the Polish grocery store in my neighborhood and buy some.

hooray! I love pelmeni; I can't wait to try the Polish / Chicago version.

I've never had pelmeni (nor heard of them) but looking them up on Wikipedia they look nearly the same as pierogis.

When T and I were in Krakow in 2005 we ate pierogis every single day - sometimes twice. His and my grandma's are pretty damn good, but there's nothing like eating them in Poland :)
