October Recap

Nov 01, 2005 21:59

For me, life is life. I take everything as it comes. October was the strangest month of my life with Rich; and I'm hoping November brings at least a little quiet time. (See the next paragraph.) In generally, I think I may be burning out and in need of a mommy break. Rich said the other day that I needed to get away for a day, but didn't go ( Read more... )

Sounds like a name for a future Supreme Court Justice. Always good if you can imagine the child living a productive adult life with the name.

Unlike:
Spring Flowers Jones (I had a Spring Flowers ----- in my class last semester); Moon Unit Zappa; Jermajesty Jackson (son of Jermaine); and who can forget - or forgive- Nicholas Cage naming his son Kal-el after Superman.

Don't get me started on celebrity names. A few of my favorites: Pilot Inspektor (Jason Lee's kid) and Moxie Crimefighter (Penn's, from Penn and Teller, kid).

understanding the need for a break meesch34 November 2 2005, 14:50:54 UTC
I completely understand and totally agree with the need for a break. I honestly can't imagine taking care of Erin by myself for so long, I admire you for taking care of Ella for so long. I've stayed home with Erin by myself when she was sick and it gave me a whole new respect for single mothers and fathers! If you are having the same problems I am, this pregnancy has been a little tougher than the first in terms of being tired, worn out, and on edge emotionally. Because I haven't been able to come home from work and take naps, I've been exhausted. The raging hormones have led to crying outbursts (which I try to hide from Erin and John) and swinging emotions. Because of this, I have taken a few days off of work, just for me. I am a person that needs alone time and I obviously don't get much. So those few days I took, to lay around and read and watch TV and sleep were a lifesaver. Anyways, long story short, if you can find a way, take some time for yourself! Don't feel guilty or upset, in the long run it is good for everyone ( ... )

I AGREE! You have to get out of the mindset that it's selfish (or at least, I should say I had to) and realize that a mom who needs a break isn't good for anyone. Or as Matt says, "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."

I know you don't need our approval, but I do like the name. It does indeed sound very strong!

Caleb had a hard time with the time change between the ages of one and two. This time around he seemed to do fine, so you can look forward to it getting better as they get older.

Imagining Ella saying those things makes me smile. Our little sponges.

I like Samuel. Is it a relief to have that decision made?

PS I sent you an e-mail to the address I have at work. I hope it's current - if not, can you send something my way?
