Wonder Woman movie casting...Beyonce as Diana?

Apparently Beyoncé Knowles has expressed an interest in playing Wonder Woman. Thoughts?

Well, it'd be a better choice than Megan Fox, IMO. At any rate, more important than the casting choices to be made if WB ever gets its act together and gets a decent script, I think, is what Beyoncé says here:

There's a Wonder Woman movie in the pipeline. Aussie model/actress Megan Gale was offered the role or Wonder Woman.

Yeah, there's been talk about Megan Gale for a while now, but it's not confirmed. Previously there was a Justice League movie in the works and IMDB listed her as WW for that, but it got shelved. If anyone is cast for the role, there'll be a lot more fuss about it.

Probably better than Halle Berry as Catwoman, but she does have the figure for it. :) Everything that I've seen Beyonce in makes me think "NO!", but fans would nitpick no matter who they cast. It's what they do.

Just as tough as Superman? Pfft! :)

The Catwoman movie wasn't bad because of Halle Berry, it was bad because they didn't bother putting any originality or substance into the plot or script, instead it was cliché and this costume, and expecting it to make millions. Which is why I must emphasize the importance of taking a WW movie as seriously and putting the same kind of effort that went into Dark Knight.

My inner geek really wants her to look the part...but if the movie was good, I probably wouldn't care if it was Beyonce or not.

And god, the WW movie needs to be made.

Exactly.

I'm just so afraid they'll go for the "OMG it's about a woman, therefore we must focus on making her as sexy as possible at every opportunity, and throw in the occasional 'this is a job for a woman' and 'you fight like a girl' line that's supposed to be clever by being sarcastic but just comes off as tired exhausted cliché" approach.

If they just approach it like they do most male superhero movies, it has the potential to be amazing...but with this Jeff Robinov guy in charge I can't help but worry. Then again, perhaps even a bad movie will open the door for future re-makes.
