Yeah, my older one has climbed around on the bars quite a bit already, but my younger one has just stayed in one spot. Right now my biggest concern is placing the food cups in a such a way that is easily accessible and won't be pooped in. I've put them toward the top, but I'm not sure if that's the best place for ground foragers like cockatiels.
The younger one will come around with time, he's probably just a little scared at the change. I tend to put food cups near the bottom and not right under or right next to perches. Birds like to hang out at the top of their cages (so don't make a nail-filing perch the only high perch), so putting the food down low makes them get a bit of exercise.
I'm actually impressed with Tristan (the younger one). When Morgan tried to go up into his corner, he defended his millet sprig valiantly. I always thought Tristan was a meek little thing, but he seems to be more confident now. I've moved the food dishes back toward the bottom, so obviously the beebs will realized that they need to move to get their supper.
