i just maimed a cinnamon raisin bagel using the handle of a plastic spoon. it's not the smoothest cut in the world, but it works. i actually remembered to get cream cheese this time around, so that i don't have to try to force down a whole bagel with nothing on it, which i've decided is right up there with eating 30 saltine crackers

I live accross the street from a park with many nut trees, etc. and it is the best greeting every morning to leave one's apartment building to see an explosion of color and old people and asians nut picking and crazy people asking you to roll down your window so they can ask for money and joggers and nurses from the hospital accross the park walking on their break and yeah, its a really beautiful autumn this year!

Tree color this autumn

I was driving through Northfield when I noticed an inordinate number of cars along the road that goes past St. Olaf college. There isn't much on this road as far out as I was aside from the college so I was baffled by this roadside interest. Cars were parked blocks away from whatever it was. I slowed down and continued on trying to guess what could be happening up ahead. As I rounded the bend right before the St. Olaf driveway and sign I see the largest brightest yellow/orange tree I have ever seen in my life. It was shockingly bright. People were everywhere photgraphing it. I know I've never seen anything like this before as I would surely remember the event if not the color of the tree itself.

After this tree I began paying more attention to the trees and I have to agree with you that I have not seen tree color like this ever before in MN.
