Gorgeous. Beautifully done. I love the tension between them, Cobb's nervousness, and the rush of rush of remembering. And Cobb's memory of Mal giving her blessing. So lovely.
Also writing in second person was a nice surprise, but very effective.

Thank you so much. Seriously, I'm really glad you liked this. Mostly because I completely love your Saito fics (I am terrible at feedback and have been trying to come up with a way to comment and tell you how much I love them).

As for second person, it's an obsession of mine (though the other 2.5 Inception fics I have in my google docs are in 3rd). It's not usually done in most fandoms, but it's mostly what I write in. And I'm glad that you like it, especially since a lot of people don't.

(I ... want to. I'm still cautious about writing from Saito's POV, especially since my knowledge of Japan is limited to what I've seen in movies and read in books (aka not much). But I'm definitely going to at least try.)

Aww, thanks! #^_^# Saito's such an interesting character to me, I'm always happy to see well thought out fics with him.

2nd person can be challenging, I think I've done like... one piece in 2nd, just because it was "Bright Lights, Big City" fic which is notorious for it's 2nd-person-ness. It's definitely something to wrap ones head around as a writer, but it can also be really lovely and intimate to read. If it's not done well it reads a bit like choose your own adventure, but I think you've handled it well.

He is. I feel he's underused in fic (and fandom in general). I also feel like I never realized Ken Watanabe was hot until now (idek!). fanged-angel and I were just lamenting that there's no Saito fic community in this fandom.

I can't even remember when/why I started. I think I was suffering from writer's block. Somehow it just seems to work well for me. And oh, yeah. If it's poorly done, you can definitely tell. Randomly, I wonder if it's because never think of myself when I'm writing in second person. IDK. Anyway. Thank you! I appreciate it.

the idea of saito remembering his dream before cobb is something really amazing to me. i'm not sure why, but i have a picture of it coming back to him while he's in his big tastefully sparse office and his slow smile. a new life and a second chance as young men together and you've given them a start.
