Sunghee's never taken Yoohwan for granted. She knows how important he is, both to her as an idol and to her personally. He never really questions her, unless she asks, which she does a lot. She values his opinion and his ability to know exactly what she needs. Her life isn't what she dreamed it'd be, maybe it's a little better and sometimes it's worse.

She misses the childhood she never knew, the close friendships and boyfriends she'd never had. Sure, she's slept around, but nothing that ever meant anything. Sleeping with dancers was easy, her company had plenty and they were easy come, easy go. None of them thought less of her, much to her delight. She gave as much respect as she commanded. It helped, too, that Yoohwan never seemed to judge her, either.

Her company had hired him first, they wanted a pretty boy to be her bodyguard, but when his contract was up, she'd begged her company to let him stay. She trusted him with her life, her secrets. And she never, ever went to see the CEO without him around, though sometimes she didn't have a choice and she'd take her manager instead. But usually it was Yoohwan.

Sunghee didn't know how long she'd been harboring a crush on Yoohwan. Maybe it'd only been a few weeks, but she thinks that maybe it's been much longer. Her last relationship had ended in an acceptable fashion. Her company wasn't keen on having her dating publically, no matter how much she protested, and his company was. They'd remain friends, she knew that, and she'd hinted to one of her girlfriends that he was available.

After her most recent comeback, she'd been spending more time with soloists her own age. Most were single, like her, and she'd dated a few of the boys. So when a group of them had asked her to join them for dinner and karaoke, she'd said yes. Their managers had tagged alone, probably to make sure no one did anything stupid and to keep the paparazzi away.

Sunghee didn't drink. She'd long since drowned her sorrows in others ways, writing her own songs was her favorite. So when everyone at the table, and most of their managers, were drunk, Sunghee knew it was time to leave. Her phone was off and she didn't relish turning it on and had her manager call Yoohwan to get her.

As she waited, she realized that she was looking forward to seeing him. And then, like a ton of brinks, her feelings seem to explode inside her. She slipped into the car and couldn't stop staring at him. It was as if she'd been in the dark and suddenly everything was light.

When she kissed him, she thought he'd push her away. But he didn't. He only pulled back, a little, to ask if this was what she really wanted. When she'd said yes, he'd kissed her back, fingers twisting her hair.
