Why was I surprised that they obviously had a plan? One day when I entered Luke's room with his favorite dark roasted coffee he wasn't there and in his bed was someone else. The guy didn't know where Luke was.
For a few seconds my heart stopped beating because I thought about the possibility that he could have died, but I pushed that image out of my head. I knew that Noah and Lily were not a fan of me but they would have contacted me if something serious had happened to Luke, right?
I tracked down a nurse who told me that Lily had picked him up and that he had gone home.
Home? There was only one place we had been dreaming about, Luke and I, and that was my house where people were working their asses off to get it ready.
He told me how much he was looking forward to sit on my new porch, and how he craved to be in my bed. We kissed and hugged a lot but hospitals are bad places for romance, every moment someone could barge in and do something insignificant. He told me what he wanted when he would finally be alone with me, soft naughty whispers in my ear arousing me so much that at one point I begged him to stop.
He had a very rich fantasy, my sexy man, but somehow I wanted to take things slowly. He had to focus on his recovery while all he wanted to do was making love.
He told me about his relationship with Noah, how Noah came out of the closet for him but wasn't very much into experimenting. I looked at him while he was talking and couldn't help but to feel sorry for him, about how his life had been before he met me. How could he be pushed around for so long? How could so many people around him have said that they loved him but didn't have a clue about who Luke was? What he needed?
He told me every day how much he loved me and how grateful he was that I walked into his life. He made me blush a lot. I always ping-ponged back that it was me who was the lucky one, that I had never experienced love before I met him and that I was so grateful that we were so good together.
The fact that we could talk about things that came from the bottoms of our hearts warmed me and even now, now Lily had decided without telling me that she was going to take Luke back to Oakdale, I knew that we would be a couple till the very end. I was furious about her selfish act but I tried to stay calm while I texted Aaron.
"Hey Aaron, I am here at the hospital and it turns out that Luke is back in Oakdale, have you seen him yet?
The answer came quickly: "no fucking way, did Lily and Noah bring him here without saying anything to you? What the f is she doing? I am going to call her, let you know when I know more¨ .
I walked to my hotel room and put all of my stuff into my suitcase before I texted Peter.
"Hey Peter, turns out that Luke is brought back to Oakdale so I am going to leave as fast as I can, thanks so much for your support! Can we meet before I go or are you busy?".
"You mean that you didn't know about the transport? What is going on in that family? Of course we can meet; we can have dinner if you have time. I can bring you to the airport afterwards. Shall I ask Mart to join us? I know he wants to speak to you about Luke's clients".
"I am going to check what time I can fly back but I guess we will have time to do that. I don't want to leave without seeing you and your sexy boyfriend; I am so grateful that he has taken over Luke's clients. Maybe we can discuss how things are going with Luke's business and make a plan about when Luke can take over again. I haven't talked about that with him yet".
"Do you think he is going to work soon? Maybe Mart can keep some of his clients if he wants to slow down, Mart really liked the job and he wants to extend his business".
"That would be a great solution Peter, Luke didn't have a personal life in Oakdale, he was only working. Maybe if he slows down a bit we will have more time for each other".
"You are so in love with this guy".
"Oh yes, he has called me godsend but it's mutual, I am not even looking forward to start working in Oakdale when I am back, I want to be with him in my new house and make sure that he gets what he needs".
"Ha-ha you are so freaking hilarious. I can't believe that you are the same guy that I have talked to when you lived here; all you could talk about was your job. And now it isn't important anymore because you found someone who matches your libido? Are you 16 again?".
"I can't help it that he drives me crazy. And for the record, when I was 16 I was a shy kid who was only studying and playing chess. I never imagined myself with a partner because I was an uber nerd, so I have to catch up you know".
"I am so glad that you are such a good team Reid. I’m going to make a reservation at your hotel for dinner, so you have time to plan your flight. See you later".
"Thanks Peter".
