You should be able to withdraw cash over the counter at a branch of your bank. Some credit card companies will also extend this facility, but it will cost. It does of course require you to be able to provide alternative ID. (passport, driving licence and sometimes a utility bill)

I have no passport or driving licence so I never carry ALL my cards.

I'm sure I could go into a branch - the added complication is I bank with an internet only bank... but they do have a parent company (who is also a bank!) who have branches... and I'm sure something could be arranged if I got desperate!

Because I was doing a lot of traveling back and forth to/from the states, I made a xerox of my passport, my drivers license, and my cards. Luckily, it never became an issue. I know this doesn't help much now. :-(

The one saving grace is I never lost my drivers licence...

...but that would be because I don't have one! ;) I also keep my travel pass in a seperate place.

i'm not going to fess up to how many times i've done the same thing, but i will tell you that a couple years ago i left my wallet on top of gas pumps thrice. in one week. ooops. my idiot way beats yours. :)

Wow... you was really trying your luck there. There are either a lot of really honest people about in your part of the world - or you truely have the best luck! :)
