When: Backdated to Aerith's birthday (February 7th)
Location: Aerith's room at an inn in Edge. Possibly outside?

Summary: Aerith and Zack finally meet after what seemed to be eternity. <3

Okay, admittedly, Zack was taking a little more time than he initially stated. But that was because he happened to pass by a shop along the way, decorated from ceiling to floor with pink paper hearts and special sales for the upcoming Bloom's Day celebration-like thing that was apparently coming up. Not one of the holidays that he paid much attention to.

The only reason Zack had even bothered going inside because of the event that happens the week before the holiday. Which happened to be today. And today happened to be Aerith's birthday ( ... )

Having finished her work, she was sitting at the dining table with her head down. At the sudden knocking of her door, Aerith flinched turning her head towards the door. Zack...?

She walked to the door and paused. What if he isn't the same? No, no. Aerith couldn't be thinking that at a time like this. After all, she invited him over here. But the question remained. From what she gathered from hearing others having conversations, it had been more than a decade since she and Zack saw each other. That's plenty of time for a person to change.

Taking a deep breath, she turned the handle to the door, revealing her spiky-haired sweetheart. She looked him straight in the eyes. All the thoughts that had been floating around in her mind dissipated immediately as the sky-colored eyes comforted her. "Zack..." Overtaken by her joy, she walked towards Zack and placed her arms around his waist, hugging him while resting her head on his chest. He's back.

Zack barely had time for a sheepish smile before she'd flung herself at him, and the teddy bear was promptly squished between the two of them. At first, Zack was frozen in place; it was one thing reuniting in the Lifestream, where there was no touch or feel but only being, it was something entirely different to actually be holding her after so many years of being physically apart. Their time together in the afterlife aside, how many years had it been since they'd even spoken to each other?

To Hell with thinking. Zack wasn't letting go now.

Keeping one arm between them to make sure the bear plush didn't fall to the floor (and make a loud squeak to ruin the mood), his other wrapped around Aerith's back and pulled her as close as he could. Gods, he missed her, enough so that if she could feel the wing on his back through his coat, he couldn't bring himself to care. They were finally given the chance to be together again. No amount of personal insecurity would get in the way of that ( ... )
