Please don't get up. Stay there while I - [Wham!

Kairi is doing something she has never before done out of a lack of previous need. Keyblade in hand, she went hunting for the monsters announced to be supposedly in the city - and so it was true, for she found them there, sparse and spread out quite randomly. Ordinarily, it was either one of her two ( Read more... )

[He peeped this by accident via his NOC, and so opens his audio feed.]

I have been told venting can be healthy in all its' forms.

[It takes her a minute to realize that her video feed has been broadcasting, and Kairi is severely embarrassed - but it would be rude not to reply. So her own audio is switching on as the NOC is retrieved.

Denial slips out of her mouth before she even realizes it or the truth of it.]

I wasn't really "venting" - it's just there were the lizards and they attacked me while I was walking, so... so, I had to show them who's boss. That's all.

I - I'm sorry for the... video, by the way. It was an accident.

[Too many stutters and pauses.]

You put too much into it. [His way of saying "bullshit". But it doesn't matter, so it's all he says about that.]

You should pay better attention to your surroundings next time.

[Not that he actually cares, just saying.]

[It reminds her of Riku, in a way. Not that Kairi would ever lie to him, because she had already learned the success rate was equivalent to nothing. He had always been too intelligent. It seemed that, in this case, this other person showed similarities in that area.]

Oh. I guess I will have pay more attention, then. Thank you. [Er...]

Who is this?

[Even the rain hadn't been able to chase Zack back to Tseng's apartment after he and Vincent had parted ways. He'd wandered the streets, killing another four of the Salmadours, before he stumbled on Kairi killing her third lizard. He watched her with eyes narrowed; her form was good, but...she was putting too much energy into her swing. When she sank to the ground, Zack walked closer.]

You're swinging too hard. You'll wear yourself out a lot quicker this way.

[Between the sound of rain and her own ragged breathing, Kairi had not heard the male's approach until he had spoken.

If that had been an enemy, you would have been pulverized for sure, Kairi.

Of course, there was no immediate guarantee that a stranger would do her no harm, but - well, being a Princess of Light, one was naturally more trusting. That trust does not dismiss the Keyblade from her hands; instead, the weapon was only clutched closer to herself.

Her torso twists around and Kairi cranes her neck up from her seated position. Blinking rainwater out of her eyes, she squints at him from behind stray strands of hair.]

How hard should I swing, then?

[Zack sees that wariness, and crouches down to be more on her level. She's probably not used to fighting, judging from her breathing alone.]

Lighter hits. Not so much power behind them, and you can hit a lot more without getting so tired.

[Kind of like skinny Cloud back home, if he thought about it. This girl, she looked kind of like Cloud, too.]

[Drops slide down brows now furrowed, blue eyes dark with thought.

Light hits? Why would anyone want to hit their opponent lightly? Evidently, there was more to combat than mere strength alone. It made sense not to wear oneself out so quickly, though, and it also explained why she was already so fatigued from a trio of small lizards.

It was valuable information. Sora had said he was going to teach her how to better use the keyblade, but then he had... well, if the instruction was good, then it was good, no matter who the teacher.

Her head bobs once in understanding, and Kairi glances down at her Keyblade, its colors muted by overcast and rainfall as if it was bracing for more darkness of battle. Lighter hits, then.]

I'll have to practice. [At this, her head rises so she can once again regard her company, and she looks strangely hopeful.] Have you seen more of the lizards?

[That's a .. ramble. He's watching you, and his arms fold over his chest before his lip pouts with a curious and blank expression before-]

Is this how you win all your battles?

[Oh, curse the fact that the NOC is on, playing the VIDEO of all things.

It's in her hand quickly so she can stare down at it - at him - and try to smooth over the lameness of her actions.]

No, of course not... [Not that she did most of the fighting anyways, but...]

I'm practicing. It's been a while since I've had to fight, that's all. [Pause.] Did I look that... silly?

[Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-] Should've asked. [Leaves it vague.]

[Kairi's momentary confusion is blatant, and then it shifts into scrutiny.]

Should have asked who? You? Are you offering...?
