Kairi is doing something she has never before done out of a lack of previous need. Keyblade in hand, she went hunting for the monsters announced to be supposedly in the city - and so it was true, for she found them there, sparse and spread out quite randomly. Ordinarily, it was either one of her two best friends which would have been about keeping the peace and honing their fine Keyblade skills... but they were not here, which left her to do some hunting (and vent her newfound discomfort (or frustration, maybe?))]
[Mutter, mutter.] You could be doing anything else. Cooking, sewing, playing with Sebast, talking with people, cultivating plants, making necklaces, writing letters to Sora and Riku, staying inside where it is dry - but here you are, fighting lizards, Kairi!
[The second body, oranged and swirled, fell by a puddle, the reflection of the now-corpse ruined by heavy drops of rain crashing into the water.
As if in rage of its felled partner, the third and final lizard lunges at the soaked, panting redhead. Its seeking, toothed mouth finds only the edge of the Keyblade, and it is consequently sliced through by the flash of light. Once it shows no sign of breathing, Kairi lowers herself down to sit in spite of the downpour, because her body is not simply not used to battle, and three is so much... so she can spare a few minutes to catch her breath before she heads back to the apartments. Maybe she will stop by at the Devil May Cry before she returns "home."]
