There was, of course, more than one reason for him coming with her. He had that awful feeling where she might need more than just support when looking, and if she did find him, she might need help getting Giles to the clinic. Either way, he wasn't going to let her put herself through the emotional wringer without some back up.

Willow, having been a blessing and healing his leg, was out cold. And the sun was pretty much back to normal. Which meant Frost was out -if he was even capable of emotional support, King had no idea.

"It's no problem," his hand touched her elbow slightly, just the brush of a grip, a comfort, "I wanna help." He didn't want her doing it alone. And there might be others still trapped in there since he was sure there were people missing.

The activity level had dropped, people were there, yes. But not just as many. The place looked a mess though. "Where should we start?" Because realistically, they could end up in the entirely wrong place.

"You shouldn't have to. So I'm gonna thank you anyway," she murmured quietly, her eyes falling from his face to where his hand brushed gently against her elbow. It was a soft, comforting gesture for which she was too grateful to express in verbal terms. She had no idea how to explain to him just how much it meant that he was taking the time to help her. He didn't have to. He really shouldn't, either. It was her fault, her mistake, and Giles was her Watcher. Her friend. Her responsibility; no one else's, and he shouldn't have to help shoulder the work. Yet, here he was.

No, there was no way Buffy could even begin to tell him what it meant to her ( ... )

She didn't need to say anything, he could tell pretty much on his own that not only was she grateful for the help but, even if she didn't realise it now, she was going to need it later.

Hannibal would tell her what she wanted to hear, be optimistic for her, but in truth, the only thing the thought they'd find would be a body, and he didn't rightly want that to happen either. A blessing would be if Giles had been found previously by someone else and was in the clinic himself. But Hannibal was a realist.

Even this long after the change from vampire to human, Hannibal still had a few senses, and tears, tears he could smell. Just that same as blood had that smell. He watched her back, there was no sign that she was breaking outwardly, so a steady silent support seemed all she needed right now.

Following her, he nodded as she started towards a starting point for looking, glancing around to see if there was anything obvious. "So, Willow," he thought that maybe, with a conversation diversion, things might go easier, "that stuff's pretty

The second she reached the right spot, she dropped to a crouching position and began to lift, and move, various pieces of debris. From small hunks to large hunks - and even those that caused her strain; she wouldn't have any of it, and she wanted it all gone. Out of the way. Buffy needed, desperately, to find Giles. She just hoped she wasn't too late.

She was probably wrong.

She looked over her shoulder toward him as he spoke, and her heart stopped for a moment or two. Willow hadn't been that powerful, as she remembered the redhead before she died... But they were from different times, it seemed. But she'd obviously gotten powerful enough in the time that Buffy came from, to bring her back from the dead and by so doing, pulling her from heaven. "Yeah," she offered half-heartedly, "I don't remember her being able to do that before I died."

She paused for a moment, and her voice dropped lower and quieter. "I don't remember her being able to do a lot of things that she apparently has the ability to to." With that, she lifted up a ( ... )
