Cloud made his way briskly towards their temporary home. Temporary, because he hadn't given up going back to Gaia yet. He had no desire at all to make this so-called paradise his 'home'. Still, he had to admit it wasn't ALL bad. He got to see Zack and Aerith again, in the flesh, instead of in the lifestream.

And here he was going to meet up with Aerith in person for a ... date? Probably not. They were just friends. Or maybe she was still his client, since he HAD been hired to keep Shinra goons away from her. If so, he was the worst bodyguard ever since she died.

Before he knew it, he found himself a few steps away from the girl he'd just been thinking about. "Aerith..." Cloud said awkwardly then ran a hand through his spiky hair, making it spike up even more unintentionally.

Green eyes blinked open at the sound of her name and her gaze slid over to Cloud. It still felt strange to look at him, because the Cloud she remembered always seemed awkward and a little lost. This Cloud was... Well, she supposed he still appeared awkward and lost, but something about him had matured. He had grown, become his own man, and was not the same man she met laying unconscious in her flower bed. Just like Zack...Lips tugged upward in a smile as she stood straight, hands clasping together behind her back while she stepped forward to stand in front of him. "Cloud," she greeted, laughing softly at the spiked up do. At least that hadn't changed as much. "Relax, I won't bite you," teasing as usual. A hand left the other to reach forward, patting his arm gently as if reassuring him of something she was sure he had no worries about. "I just wanted to talk ( ... )

To Cloud, Aerith hasn't changed at all from the last time he'd seen her in the lifestream with Zack. Green eyes both wiser than her years and at the same time mischievous as well. Why would she have changed? He berated himself silently. She had died like this.

"I am relaxed." Cloud grumbled but it was a good-natured sort of half-complaint. He had expected the teasing. Another thing that hadn't changed about her. He relaxed a bit at her touch, her hand warm on his skin.

Cloud did frown at her next comment though. "A little bird? Who's that?" He wasn't quite sure if Aerith knew Buffy or Riku, but it was totally possible that Zack, Tifa or Yuffie had said something about it to Aerith. Maybe he should have asked them to keep quiet about the trip outside.

A giggle escaped at his grumbled response. "Of course, of course." As good natured as always. It was too bad that all conversations couldn't be this light, but there were always more pressing matters. Matters that could not be said with a smile and a laugh.

"Is that important?" She wasn't sure if Tseng would appreciate being outed to the exSOLDIER, after all. The men could handle themselves, but the tension between them was not something she wanted to add to, especially when both were living in the same city. "Someone with good intentions," she added a little afterward, nodding firmly. Hopefully that would be enough to get away without answering.

"Are you?" She repeated the question again. "I won't be upset, but you know I'll be worried."
