Cloud's continuous word stream permeated her consciousness and Tifa blinked open her eyes, staring at...three of him. She waved her hand, trying to reach for the real one, missed twice, but finally smacked his arm and her fingers closed around his wrist as she tried to speak, but her teeth were chattering too hard to be very clear.

"C-C-Cl-o-oud..."

A fresh wave of nausea took over then and she curled in a ball, almost screeching with the sharp pains wracking through her. Her fingers tightened on his arm, but she didn't let go.

Tifa tried to smile at him; her lips curved, anyway. She gripped his hand tightly, pressing it to her cheek and closing her eyes. Through the haze of poison and pain, she still tried to be strong for him. Her best and oldest friend. Always.

"H-hey...I-I'll be a-all r-right." She winced as another shudder ripped through her, but her expression returned shortly after. "Y-you'll see..."

After racing through the city, finding nothing but those things, bodies and blood smeared around the place -she knew it wasn't all Tifa's but that didn't help her feel better at all, it took Yuffie a further twenty minutes to decide to head back to the apartment and hole up.

It only took that long because of the creatures. If they knew how to climb, none of them seemed quick enough to scamper up the side of the buildings to reach her. It didn't mean Yuffie wasn't going to take out a few of them; Fuma was ideal for the attacks, coupled with the Fiagra materia she'd been given, placed ever so lovingly in her weapon, Yuffie made quick work of almost a dozen zombies on her way to the apartment.

The release and catch of her shuriken only slowing her marginally.

"Cloud! Tifa! Aerith! You guys are home, right?!" Never the subtle type, Yuffie slammed the door behind her, taking Fuma with her to the kitchen and glancing around; "Guys? Where are you?" If Tifa was still out there, fighting, Yuffie would just do a one-eighty and go help!

Aerith was, unfortunately, quite possibly the slowest runner of AVALANCHE and was the latest in arriving. Green eyes were wide while her lungs burned for air, having been running until she'd made it through the door. Of course, she'd also managed to get herself caught up with a few of those decaying fiends, and that had slowed her down enough to frustrate the flower girl -- but at least she was here now.

"Tifa!" The brunette was first and foremost in her mind and worries as Aerith joined the others, dropping Aurora Rod in the main room before entering Tifa's. Her eyes swept from Cloud to Yuffie to Tifa and there her focus stayed as she knelt beside the bedding. "I'm here, everything's going to be okay," she murmured to the pale woman, then looking up at Cloud again.

"What happened?"

She was quiet, abnormal for her. But Cloud and Aerith, they'd help, they had to help. What they needed to do, they needed to do something. "Can you heal her? Can she be healed?"

No one knew what these things were, or what they did. Someone had to do something. "She'll be okay, right? She'll..."

Tifa had lapsed into unconsciousness, limp on the pallet. She stirred when her friends trooped in, opening her eyes to give them a soft reassuring smile before closing them again. Breath escaped her lungs in a quiet sigh and she reached for Cloud's hand.

She could feel the poison in her veins, searing fire of unbearable pain, but she wouldn't show it; she'd be strong for her friends. Her family. Yet she couldn't help shivering as the evil flowed through her, a soft whimper exhaled on a trembling breath.
