I saw the movie the day it came out, and it was fantastic. A lot of people don't seem to like the movies that much and I can't understand why. I read the books, too, and I understand that there's a lot of stuff missing and just plain different, but they shouldn't be exactly the same. Then what's the point?

Anyway,I agree with a lot of what you said (not the Harmony stuff, I'm a die hard Ron/Hermione fan, sorry!) but the things about the other characters was spot on. And I loved the H/H dance (for different reasons), despite the fact that so many R/Hr fans hated it.

And I have to end this with, I love Snape, I always have, from book 1, and there wasn't nearly enough of him in this film (or HBP).

I appreciate that you loved the H/Hr dance, that you understood that it did have an actual artistic purpose (an emotional examination of their lost innocence and the undue burden that has been placed on them in spite of their youth), and aren't going "why are they wasting time with this?" /rant

No, I can't believe so many people hated it. Whether you ship H/H, R/Hr, or neither, Harry and Hermione are still best friends. There is absolutely no reason that the two of them can't have an emotional scene without Ron. Harry/Ron have them. Ron/Hermione have them. Why can't they? And if you automatically hated it, then you're not going to really look at it and see what it means and why it was there in the first place.

I'm gonna rant for a minute. Sorry. The people sitting behind me in the theater were saying they didn't know why the Weaselys bothered putting on a wedding or why Hermione was so upset that they forgot Harry's birthday what with everything that was going on. But really, it's because of everything that's going on. What's the point of the past 7 years of their lives if they stop living. Everything was in vain if they aren't living their lives and being happy when they can. I feel the dance scene was for this reason as well.

Awww, well then go you for not knocking me down even if you love Ron/Hermione. I applaud your kindness! Rock on!

And yes, I think the movies are fantastic and it's okay if they're somewhat different. Shouldn't they be a little bit?

OMG, I love Snape. How awesome is he? And how awesome is Alan's interpretation? Wowwwwwwww. *hugs*

You could do some rockin' Snape fan art. Your art is killer.

Yay for seeing the movie! :D Yep, that scene was amazing, and that song owns my soul...

Kind of disagree about the Weasleys, though if I were just watching the movies I think I'd probably love them all as well--in the books though, well, there are some ~issues~ for me. Like Molly Weasley constantly harping about Arthur not making enough money to support the family, but refusing to work herself to contribute, apparently. I mean, it's all very well to stay home and raise your kids, but once all of your kids are away at school 9 months of the year and not around to raise, what is your excuse, really, to not help support the family when you are poor and need the money? Or if you really don't want to work, don't harp/complain then, because you could be making a difference! (Plus the fact that the Horcrux played on Ron's inner fears and mentions that Molly doesn't love him and preferred Harry as a son and wanted a girl implies that there is a basis for this in reality, just as there was with H/Hr). /random rant. And other stuff...
