The stuff of nightmares
So, what happens when mad scientists and giant evil robots work together?
Awesomeness, that's what.
That's right. ...Dr. Horrible and GLaDOS are working on a little project together, and they're looking for volunteers!
In a nutshell, there is going to be an outbreak of horrific nightmares in the Castle starting tonight, and carrying on for about a week. These are the sort of nightmares that have you kicking awake in a cold sweat--at the very least--and haunt you throughout the day. The kind that make you look sort of strung-out and spooked for a while. You know the kind. If you want to get involved (either having a nightmare, noticing a trend, whatever) then read on!
Okay, so...
After watching the residents blow off so many disturbing and crazy things here, Billy has finally thought of a way to try and really get to them. He wants to seriously mess with their minds, shake them awake so to speak....and potentially learn something about their fears/memories in the process. And our resident crazy robot always loves a good experiment, so why not help each other out?
Essentially, Billy has developed a psychoactive compound that wreaks havoc on the sleeping mind, tapping into the emotion and memory centers of the brain, causing truly terrible and vivid nightmares when they fall asleep. Much of the food in the Castle will be tainted with this substance (haha, ironic after Ino's warning) so if your guys like to have coffee in the kitchen, or tend to snack on stuff left around, they're probably getting a dose.
Then, using GLaDOS's robots and cameras, tiny fancy receivers will be placed by the the beds of those who have ingested the compound while they are not in their rooms, and the resulting brainwaves from the nightmares will be recorded and converted into handy video files for the villains' viewing pleasure.
For those who want to participate, you can react--or not react--however you want to in the main comm. Do whatever you want, there. There will be, however, an ooc post following this one where you type up and detail whatever horrible things the villains get to see on your nightmare video. (You'll also have the option of PMing me instead, if you want)
So, in a way, this is kind of an IC meme-- What are your muse's worst nightmares? :D
This isn't necessarily a plot that is going to get 'solved,' by the way. Don't know if anyone will even notice the trend, or guess that it's anything other than the Castle being weird. On the off-chance that someone does try to investigate it, it will probably only get traced as far as GLaDOS, and...what are you going to do against a giant malevolent robot?
But, yes. This is mostly to cause trouble, upset some people, and pick into your character's brains a little...
Okay...I think that covers it. Does this all mostly make sense?
Feel free to volunteer your guys here, or just wait for me to put up the 'nightmare receiver' ooc post in a little bit. It will have all the further details you'll need for the nightmares themselves.
Also, ask any questions you'd like here. Details on anything, clarification, whatevs.
