Lucrezia was beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol; the tingling in her fingers, the way the rest of the world seemed duller, hidden behind a veil that smooths out all the edges and rough patches.
She thinks she is still walking straight but it is difficult to tell at this point, so she might as well twirl around the gardens, giggling like some lovesick maiden. All the spinning around helps her dizziness none and it is only when she spies another woman a little too close to her that she makes an effort to stop, still hobbling on her feet.
"Oh, pardon." She tries to curtsy though it lacks her usual grace.
It took a few drunken stumbles to avoid being hit by the other woman, and even that was a close call. Lilah usually had more finesse in her, more of an air, but it was hard, when this drunk.
"It's fine," She said with a small laugh. Normally, she would have made some scathing, belittling remark but right now it was almost like she just couldn't get herself to care enough to.
She giggles at the drunken stumbles made by the other woman, though she stops herself with a hand over her mouth when she remembers how rude it is to do that. But the woman is still laughing and somehow alcohol made everything less grave, less serious.
Lucrezia takes a lumbering step closer, reaching out one hand toward the woman's face as if to frame it against her fingers. "You are so pretty," she sighs. Made even prettier when seen through the soft glow cast by inebriation.
"Aren't I?" Lilah mused with a smirk. Even drunk, she's still extremely confident. Some things never changed, no matter what other circumstances they had to deal with.
"You're rather pretty yourself." The compliment to the other woman was the strange part. She usually never gave those unless she had ulterior motives. But right now? She was just feeling a little free.
Fred's still wearing her smile as protection against the cold, still in especially good spirits from her conversation with Elektra. That it'd been shared on the floor of the castle lobby is really beside the point.
She is on her way to Caritas and cutting through the gardens when the flash of a familiar profile causes her footsteps to slow. She hasn't seen Lilah since they kissed, a memory she allowed to get jumbled and momentarily set aside with their time in Paris.
Lilah stopped in her wandering when she heard the steps of somebody else. It took her a moment to steady herself enough to realize who it was.
It was Fred.
Normally, she would have some catty, witty remark at the ready, but right now she couldn't seem to do better than a half assed smirk and a calling of the other woman's name.
"Yes," She said with a nod of her head. She wasn't glad to see Fred, but the usually maliciousness, the need to tear her down to make herself feel superior, it wasn't quite as strong right now.
Since returning to the castle, Katherine hasn't exactly found herself in the usual spirits. It's an effort to turn off all of the emotions that she'd worked so hard on keeping close to her heart when she was human and now she feels like the chore is almost too much to bother with.
It's just that it's necessary.
Especially here.
She finds herself this evening in the gardens, wandering through the rows of flowers that are buried beneath the snow, and wondering just how much alcohol it would take for her to really get drunk. She spots Lilah up ahead a bit and smiles to herself.
Perhaps she doesn't need to know how much it'd take to get her drunk, but how much Lilah has already been drinking.
In her defense, Lilah hadn't drunk that much actual alcohol today. However, considering that all liquid here was alcohol for the evening, it seemed like she had had quite a bit.
It was rather...freeing feeling, in some ways. Lilah was always controlled. Always collected. Always making sure she said just the right thing. Kept herself in check. But tonight she felt loose. Relaxed.
It was almost a little scary.
But she smiled, perhaps a little more genuinely than usual when she noticed Katherine.
She laughed a little in agreement at that. "Guilty as charged." Not that there was anything wrong with that. After the hellish year she had spent here (had it really almost been that long already) she deserved some kind of respite.

Fred let her steps slow and then still until she came to a stop just in front of Lilah. There was a such a thing as manners, after all.
"...Lilah." She tucked her hands deeper in her pockets against the winter chill. "Out enjoying the evening?"

She can't remember when she last felt so relaxed.
"It's a nice evening."
