it had indeed been a long trip. Colette could easily admit that she was glad to be back. although she wished it was under happier circumstances. People had been living in the castle and lying to everyone, and Joshua...

She sighed as she approached the onsen. Taking a bath an relaxing sounded like a good idea, she just hoped it wasn't too crowded. So when she poked her head in and saw only one other person there, she felt relieved. Although she quickly realized that this was a very beautiful woman, and Colette suddenly felt a bit embarrassed but glad that she had decided to wear a swimsuit.

As she walks to the washing area, she debates if she should say hello. Would it be better to keep to herself? However, her thoughts are interrupted when she suddenly walks right into a pile of stools that were stacked off to the side. Somehow, growing even redder in the face, she kneels down to pick them up.

"S-Sorry!'

Katherine was almost sinking into that blissful state of not caring about anything that was going on around her. Of course, she can hear the small girl breathing the moment she comes into the area. The hesitation, the pause - all very telling signs.

Exhaling, she opens her eyes and glances up to the girl, "No need to apologize, I'm sure you didn't intend to walk into them."

"I really didn't..." she sighs but turns her worried expression into a sheepish smile. "I don't know why I'm so clumsy... I really try to look where I'm going, but I keep bumping into things!"

She pauses awkwardly after this statement, and looks a bit fretful, "I'm not... I'm sorry, if you wanted it to be quiet, I can always come back later."

"If I wanted to be left alone I would've stayed in my room. It's fine, honestly. If you want to stay, your company is fine with me."

Katherine shifted a bit, leaning forward in the water extending her hand outward and upward toward her, "I'm Katherine."

Angel hated his loss. Although he was aware that it was inescapable, he was still glad that he'd gotten to the point where he was at least able to recognize its onset. Take now, for instance. He could feel the need to seek someone out to talk out his woes welling up, so he decided to take the initiative this time around and put as much distance between himself and anyone he didn't want to be talking to as possible. It also helped that Spike was no longer around.

The hot spring wasn't exactly his scene, but as far as he knew none of this friends or not-so-friends frequented it either. In a perfect world, the place would have been empty. Unfortunately, there was already someone else present. Although turning to head back the way he'd come crossed his mind, his loss had other ideas and before long he was slipping into the steaming water not too far from where the brunette woman was currently relaxing.

Katherine wasn't startled by another person entering the springs, of course she wasn't aware of just how co-ed they were. She presumed that given the nature of the castle, countless types from who knew where. Not all of them needed to be adept at the social lines that other worlds drew.

Besides, just because she was relaxing, didn't mean that others couldn't relax as well. She lifted her chin in recognition, having not seen him before but knowing quite easily that he was definitely not comfortable in this situation.

"Long weekend?"

"You could say that." Although saying he'd had a long year would have been a lot more accurate than calling it a long weekend at this point.

"What about you?" Not that Angel was particularly interested in making friends. It helped if he wasn't talking about himself, though.

Katherine pulled the loose strand of hair out of her eyes and repinned it up atop her head.

"I was on the expedition. To say that it was an adventure would be putting it lightly. Now I'm just trying to relax and soak away five days of walking."
