Eleven had, of course, noticed the little things off around the TARDIS. However, he had dismissed it as Del, Amy or Mark poking around. Though he did find it very unlikely that any of them would read Inconsequential Consequences of the 7 hour War on Baladonika 5... or Resurrecting Cleopatra's Wardrobe. But, no matter, stranger things have happened, after all. He ignored all the signs and carried on as usual.

On this particular day, however, he was sauntering past the kitchen, book in one hand and gizmo in the other when he smelled something delicious. Snapping the book shut, he stopped just short of the kitchen door and peered in. He knew those curls. He couldn't help but smile slightly as he rounded the door frame. "Hullo, River."

River turns her head at the sound of his voice, a secret smile on her lips as she gives him her usual greeting, "Hullo sweetie. I was wondering when I'd bump into you." If only he knew how busy she'd been lately. Trolling his other regenerations, naturally. She's already been out on a double date with Ten, Ianto, and Jack. The Doctor probably doesn't want to know just how well River and the infamously charming Jack Harness have been getting along. She'd been exploring the underground caves, the castle, and had been invited on an expedition out to the dead zone soon. Still, it seemed natural that she would make her home here in his TARDIS.

"You followed your nose, didn't you?" She chuckles as she finishes up her evening snack. Once the salad is complete, she sets the bowl out onto the table and grabs a few plates. "Would you like some chicken banana salad? I've made enough for two." Funny how she always did that. Force of habit, perhaps? River Song in the kitchen, now there was a domestic scene he wasn't likely to have ever thought of

"What, am I a toucan, now?" He laughs and moves further into the kitchen, setting his book and gizmo down on the counter as he goes. "Making me dinner? That's not something I thought I'd see." He pauses, cocking a head to one side, "Wait, did you say chicken banana?" He plops down in a chair and grabs a fork, peering at the delightful looking food she'd placed on the table. Tucking a napkin into his collar he grins broadly at her, "That's certainly a new one, on me, but it sounds delicious!"

River just laughs and shakes her head at his Toucan joke. While he seats himself at the table, she lays out two plates. One for her. One for him. "I made it for myself and I just happened to have enough for two. Don't you go thinking I'm some sixties house wife." She says with a playful wink. She knew perfectly well that she was skidding close to one of the many questions he had asked her. It made sense though, in a way. She knew him, his habits, and knew how to get in touch with him across the boundaries of time and space.

She gives him an equal portion, then fills up her plate as well. Together, they sit down to eat. River doesn't seem to think much of it, perhaps she's sat down to many meals with him in the future. "Of course it sounds delicious, because it is. You always did like my chicken banana salad, no matter how your tastebuds change."
