Who: Cain Knightlord and Abel Nightroad What: Discussin' neck nommings and Crusnik When: Just after Alucard and Crusnik went batshit together Where: Abel's room - Satis Tower Rating: Uhh... PG-15?
abel was able, i had brain fail for grammar so i'm leaving it there. BUT KNOW THAT IT BURNS MEderpishNovember 19 2010, 14:44:09 UTC
The ease with which Abel was able to push him down to the bed was disconcerting, and simply added another layer to the unease already boiling under the surface. They had always been relatively well-matched, Cain even surpassing Abel in a lot of ways; so even with weakness from bloodloss, he shouldn't be pushed down and held so easily.
Curiosity sparked in blue eyes, as they sought out identical ones and held them seriously. After all they had talked about, and all he had just seen, was Abel really trying to shut him out of this as though he were a child who was helpless to assist?
He's simply... afraid. It's a common theme, isn't it? All these fears piled up and turning him into something he doesn't want to be...
"...I don't... want you t... to touch, the..."
Ah. He can't quite bring himself to say it, looking slightly paler before easing to sit beside him with a hand still held to his chest. He'd managed to stitch the puncture hole at the back already with assistance from a friendly ghost with a surprisingly even hand. Shoulders sloped and looking as though suddenly feeling his age, he rested a hand lightly at Cain's shoulder. "...It will heal within the week. Please... don't worry. I'm absolutely fine... and you need to rest."
He doesn't want Cain to touch him, help him... Why?
There was so much he didn't understand about this whole situation, starting with the vampire biting him and ending with Abel turning into a monster.
"I'm fine." Please don't fuss, he can't possibly rest until this is sorted out, until he has some answers and can gain a little peace of mind. "Please, let me help."
Abel understands that Cain's grasp of the situation is limited... and as such, he doesn't understand Abel's insistence regarding something simple like helping with a few stitches. To explain would hurt him... and to leave him in the dark would be, perhaps, far worse. He knew firsthand how mysteries of this nature could eat a man alive from the inside out.
...It was with great reluctance that Abel Nightroad pulled the gauze back... reaching for needle and thread again.
"Cr... usnik is... in the blood stream. Like bacillus. I... just..."
And while he knew it was exhausted -- utterly so, and now in dire need of sustenance to so much as think of rearing its ugly head again... he was still afraid. Afraid of even a microscopic touch of that parasitic creature finding his twin's skin. What harm could it do? Without being transferred, it was docile -- but still, rationale didn't do a thing to ease the pain in his chest when he thought on it. Still afraid of losing him to the beast. Still afraid...
The fear in Abel's voice, and the stilted explanation at least helped a little way. He was afraid of Cain touching Crusnik, was that it? Was that understandable, or paranoia? Could he be infected and lost to it if he just smeared the blood on his skin? Ah--
Resting his hands on his lap, he didn't make another move for the needle and thread for the moment. Contemplative, silent...
Struggling.
On top of what he'd already been told, this was stretching his capacity to deal with it in a normal fashion. To see his brother transform and to hear about it were two very different things, and it made him feel sick to remember the sound of Alucard's head cr...unch...ing...
