It was at this time that Yami no Yuugi was making his way up the hallway to Mahaado's room. He stood awkwardly in the the hallway, pulling down on his shenti, trying to reach a little longer than it was at the moment (when had it gotten so short?) In his other hand, he was holding the mask he was intending to wear that night. It was the same style and metal as his gold crown and earrings. The only nod he made back to his time spent as the spirit of the Puzzle was the belts and bracelets he wore.

Glancing up, Yami caught sight of Mahaado. "Ah, Mahaado. I had hoped you'd be on this floor. I wasn't certain. Would you care to come with me to the masquerade. Hopefully, we'll meet my aibou there."

Mahaado started slightly when the Pharaoh spoke; he had been so lost in thoughts of the night ahead that he hadn't noticed him right away. Of course, now he felt the slight tug of Yami's spiritual prescence, but he nearly bit his tongue for not having noticed it sooner. The mage bowed, a bit hurriedly, and spoke. His voice was barely muffled by his mask, as the cotton was fine and thin. "O-of course, my lord. I had hoped to do so, but I did not wish to be intrusive."

He did not wish his Pharaoh to think him over protective. Yami had, after all, survived three thousand years on his own. But that was with his magic, without the threat of Bakura looming over him. He must not realize I am worried for him. It will only make him feel weak, and possibly brash...

"Did you know, my king, that Mana has arrived here as well?" he blurted as they started off.

Smoothing his shenti again, Yami glanced up at Mahaado. A smirk slipped onto his features. "Why would you be intrusive? After all, it is only fitting that one of my closest friends should meet my other friends."

He held up a hand, mimicing a pose that Yuugi had made on several occasions (something about winning and victory), and winked. "Even if I do not have the Puzzle, I feel safe knowing that those I care for are surrounding me. Especially in this strange world."

They turned a corner, and approached a set of stairs. "Ah, Mana... you said? That's good news! I'll be happy to see her. Will she be at the masquerade as well?"

Mana had spent at least an hour getting ready. The castle had given her a lovely dress and a matching mask all in the same shade of green. She felt more beautiful than she ever had in her life.

Until, of course, she tripped down the stairs. Mana had never been very fond of walking down all those stairs, and one of her feet had just slipped...

"Ow! Owch!" The girl fell down several stairs before landing in a hallway. "That hurt...silly castle!" She rubbed her neck. Looking around, she realized that Mahaado's room was around here somewhere. Brushing herself off, she started down the corridor.

"Master? Hello~" Mana called off into the distance. "Are you around here?"

((OOC~ I hope I'm doing this right. xD; And HOMG you're using an icon I made! *feels proud, 'cause she's never seen anyone use her icons before* 8D Sorry. Being random.))

The king's words could not have timed themselves better. As soon as they left his lips, there came a bump, a few smaller crashes, and Mana spilled out of a stairway not eight yards in front of them. She did not spot them at first, instead standing, and Mahaado found his lips twitching with an unfamiliar urge to joke.

His voice was quiet but clear as he indulged himself: "Why, yes, Great Pharaoh. I believe she will...drop in quite soon."

((OOC: [You'll have to forgive Mahaado; he hasn't had much practice in the levity department.] You're doing fine! And I love the icon. Though, I'm not sure if I have your username right in the credits...))

Mana heard a familiar voice. Looking over her shoulder, she spotted Mahaado. Grinning, she ran toward him as fast as she could in her dress.

"Master!" She barreled into him, giving him a rather large hug. "I'm so glad I found you! The castle was so huge that I was afraid I'd never see you again!" Mana looked up at him. "And I didn't mean to drop in!"

A bemused look crossed Yami's features. "Mana, it's good to see you," he greeted, as the look turned into a smirk. "It's been quiet some time."

[OOC: Woops! Wrong journal!]
